Who is Orion??
Artist statementMy artistic practice explores the urban landscape after dark, when the city starts to slow down, and goes to sleep. As a night owl, I find comfort and creative focus in nocturnal spaces through the empty streets, quiet corners, and traces of hustle during the day. Through my lens, I aim to capture the calmness that typically gets dominated by noise and movement during the day.My practice also allows me to engage with light and surroundings differently with my camera, then edited to fit my narrative using the power of Lightroom. Neon glows, street lamps and reflection becomes a form of brush that I get to manipulate using my lens, to redirect attention to things that normally no one would pay attention to. The absence of crowds also intensifies the connection between architecture and atmosphere and amplifies the shadows that are already existing even without the bustling life.
